Basics

  • Must be 18+ and write in English
  • Original work, written specifically for this contest
  • AI writing tools not allowed (grammar checkers OK)
  • No hateful/illegal content; respect deadlines and integrity

Entry & Formats

100 words 250 words 500 words 1000 words
  • Submit in plain text via the Write Hook system
  • Strict word-count adherence (see full rules for tolerance)
  • No author identifying info inside the story

Prizes (€)

  • Championship: 200
  • Gold: 170
  • Silver: 150
  • Bronze: 120
+ End-of-Year awards and Deck of 52 bonus rewards

Divisions

  • Gold • Silver • Bronze
  • First-time entrants start in Bronze
  • After each contest: Top 5 ↑, Bottom 5 ↓

Judging

  • Anonymous, peer-judged, rubric-based (10 categories, 100 pts)
  • Miss your judging: −10 penalty to your own entry
  • Tie-break: judges in favour → total score → categories → organisers

Schedule (GMT)

  • Fri: Prompts released • Mon 7AM: Deadline
  • Weeks 2–3: Round of 16 → Quarters → Semis → Final
  • Week 4 Fri: Winners revealed

Rights & Payments

  • You keep full ownership. Winners may be showcased (with credit)
  • Prizes via Stripe Connect (€). Complete onboarding within 90 days
  • Refunds only before a contest begins
