Founded in 2025, Write Hook is a weekly writing competition with a sports-based presentation. Every week, writers from around the world compete, move up and down divisions, track their stats, and take home real prize money. Write Hook seeks to build a community steeped in the spirit of friendly competition and to provide tools that help all writers track their progress and improve. ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Michael McGovern is an independently published author and audiobook narrator based in Dublin, Ireland. He has been a frequent participant in prompt-based writing competitions since 2022 and an active member of this niche writing community. He has previously won Twisted Tournament and placed highly in other prompt-based contests such as NYC Midnight. He hopes to make Write Hook a fun and exciting place for writers to exist and achieve their goals.
